BACOLOD City Mayor Rhumyla Nicor Mangilimutan of La Castellana, Negros Occ. said seven groups will participate in the arena dance competition of the Bailes de Luces highlight on Jan 5, 2019.
Mangilimutan said out of 13 barangays in the locality, 10 will participate and were clustered into 5 groups.
The two other participating groups are from the elementary schools in the town.
The participating barangay-clusters were given P100,000 each as assistance while the elementary schools received P60,000 each.
Mangilimutan said that in 2019, BJMP inmates will also participate as guests.
She added their performance will be aired on Jan 5.
Mangilimutan said this year’s Bailes de Luces arena dance competition will be grander than 2018 as the participants will use enhanced LED lights.
She recalled that the lights used in the Bailes de Luces has evolved from torches to lighted bottled water and now LED lights.
