43 Capiz police officers earn promotions

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Forty-three personnel of the Capiz Police Provincial Office formally received their new ranks during a regionwide simultaneous oath-taking, donning, and pinning ceremony for second-level uniformed personnel Wednesday morning, July 29, at Camp Teodorico C. Apil in Barangay Lanot, Roxas City.

Police Col. David L. Cachumbo Jr., officer in charge of the provincial police office, led the Command Group and Provincial Staff at the ceremony.

The rank-by-rank breakdown provided by police listed eight police majors, four police lieutenants, two executive master sergeants, seven chief master sergeants, eight master sergeants, eight staff sergeants, and seven corporals.

The listed figures total 44 personnel, although police reported that 43 officers were promoted.

The ceremony was made more meaningful by the presence of the officers’ families and loved ones, who pinned the new rank insignia on the honorees as a symbol of their support for their chosen careers.

Cachumbo congratulated the promoted police personnel.

“Leadership is not measured by rank; it is measured by character, accountability, fairness, and doing what is right even if no one is watching,” he said.

“When every citizen trusts each police officer, their trust in the entire Philippine National Police grows stronger,” he added.
