35 UPV personnel recognized at 2026 Service Awards

A total of 35 University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) personnel were recognized for their dedication, commitment and achievements during the 2026 Service Awards held at the UPV Auditorium, Iloilo City campus, on Sept. 25, 2026.
Honored during the event were recipients of the Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Performance and Achievement, active personnel with 25 years of service in UP, retired personnel with at least 15 years of service in UP, and one-time cash awardees for earning a master’s degree while working at UP.
Here are the personnel who were honored at this year’s UPV Service Awards:
Chancellor’s Awardees for Outstanding Performance and Achievement

The Chancellor’s Awards covered the period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026, while the Service Awards for academic and administrative personnel covered the period from Oct. 2, 2025, to July 31, 2026.
The audience heard about the experiences, hardships and lighter moments at work through the responses of some of the awardees, namely Ms. Sarina Nacita, Asst. Prof. Darius Salaum, Ms. Ella Tidon, Asst. Prof. Giabelle Flecila Saldaña, Ms. Genna Serofia and Mr. Gene Philip Levee Ynion.
For his part, Chancellor Clement Camposano told the awardees, “We can count years and list accomplishments, but we cannot easily measure the countless ordinary days when someone showed up, did the work, helped a colleague, served a student, solved a problem, or stayed a little longer because something needed to be done.”
“These acts may not appear in an award citation, but they are what keep an institution going,” Camposano stressed.
The 2026 UPV Service Awards, organized by the Human Resources Development Office, was one of the main highlights of the 79th anniversary of the UP Presence in Iloilo this September, with the theme “1940s Foundation, 1979 Fulfilment, Lifelong Service.”
