3 nabbed for illegal gambling in Ivisan

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Three people were arrested Saturday afternoon, Oct. 10, after police allegedly caught them playing “tong-its” for money in Barangay Ondoy, Ivisan, Capiz.
Police identified the suspects as aliases Davis, 22; Danilo, 74; and Rosalia, 71, all residents of the barangay.
The Ivisan Municipal Police Station said officers recovered playing cards and betting money from the suspects.
The three remain in police custody while charges for alleged violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602, which penalizes illegal gambling, are being prepared.
Meanwhile, a senior citizen was arrested the same day for allegedly soliciting bets for an illegal Small Town Lottery operation in Barangay Tiza, Roxas City.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Sayong,” 64, a resident of the barangay.
She was arrested after a police poseur-bettor placed a PHP 20 bet.
Authorities recovered a cotejo, a notebook containing lists of numbers, PHP 100 in collected bets and a ballpen.
The suspect remains in the custody of the Roxas City police while charges for alleged violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 are being prepared.
