Three individuals were injured after a fire broke out at the rear section of MO2 Westown Hotel in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao district, on Friday morning, June 6, 2025.
Among those injured was a person treated by Iloilo City Emergency Responders for a lacerated wound on the nasal bridge.
The Philippine Red Cross also treated two individuals who sustained second-degree burns.
No fatalities were reported, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.
The Iloilo City Emergency Operations Center said the fire started around 10:40 a.m. and was raised to a third alarm by 10:43 a.m. as flames rapidly spread through the back portion of the hotel.
Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly two hours before declaring it under control at 12:31 p.m.
The fire was fully extinguished by 12:45 p.m.
Fire crews encountered difficulty reaching the hotel rooftop due to debris and fallen appliances blocking access along the fourth floor.

Despite the obstruction, several BFP personnel managed to reach the rooftop by navigating through the right-wing portion of the building.
Authorities said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
