The annual event celebrates the achievements of DOST scholars, showcasing milestones in science and technology.
This year’s honorees included 11 summa cum laude, 94 magna cum laude, and 151 cum laude graduates from universities across Western Visayas and Negros Occidental.
Thirteen scholar-alumni were also recognized for placing in professional licensure examinations.
Among them were three topnotchers each in the electronics technicians, mechanical engineering, and fisheries licensure exams.
Two ranked in the chemical engineering board exam, while one each placed in the chemical technician and professional teachers exams.
Regional Director Engr. Rowen Gelonga urged the scholars to continue advancing science and innovation for national development.
“Take with you the fire of curiosity, the discipline of research, and the heart to serve,” he said.
“Be fearless in pushing boundaries, bold in proposing solutions, and humble enough to collaborate, listen, and keep learning,” he added.
The ITWE program reflects DOST’s goal to develop highly skilled science and technology professionals who can drive research, innovation, and community development.
