2 Nabbed for Grenade, Illegal Guns in Dumarao Raid
ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two men are facing criminal charges following their arrest Sunday morning, May 4, during the service of search warrants at their residences in Sitio Magalan, Barangay Sagrada Familia, Dumarao, Capiz. ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two men are facing criminal charges following their arrest Sunday morning, May 4, during the service of search warrants at their residences in Sitio Magalan, Barangay Sagrada Familia, Dumarao, Capiz.
Police identified the suspects as alias “Remuel,” 49, and alias “Rico,” 34, both residents of the area.
Recovered from Remuel’s possession were an improvised 12-gauge shotgun, a hand grenade, and a KG9 rifle loaded with live ammunition, including shells for the shotgun.
Recovered from Rico’s house was an improvised 12-gauge long firearm with live ammunition.
The search warrants were issued by Judge Lorencito Diaz of Regional Trial Court Branch 17, 6th Judicial Region in Roxas City on May 2, 2025.
The joint operation was conducted by the 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, Capiz Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Explosives and Canine Unit, and Dumarao Municipal Police Station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, will be filed against both suspects.
Additional charges for violating Republic Act 9516, or Illegal Possession of Explosives, will be filed against Remuel due to the grenade recovered from him.
The two are currently under the custody of the Dumarao Police Station for proper disposition.
