Two prized taekwondo jins under the helm of the Iloilo City Taekwondo and Fitness Center by Jojo Castro put Western Visayas at the top of the international pedestal after clinching Best Player awards in their respective categories.
Franchezka There Guihama bested the top jins from all over the world to claim the Best Player award in the Best Female Color Belt category while Clark Zed Abello put the icing on the cake after receiving the same award in the Best Male Color Belt during the Oregon, USA International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championships.
Aside from notching the Best Player awards, both Guihama and Abello also won gold medals in their respective categories.
15 other Iloilo JOCAS jins made waves and dominated, with Neslene Marie Muleta, Yestine Yori Barrios, Paul Dominic Callado, Tisha Seth Escrupulo, Margareth Aguana, Jayden Drew Fajutrao, Eunice Angela Castante, and Necole Cortez all reigned supreme and won gold medals.
Second-placers were Gee Juby Silla, Niña Marie Muleta, and Anje Grace Espanillo while runner-ups were Airon Melvin Aguana, Myka Sydney Lacanaria, Francine Daylle Clarito, and Fyll Krystll Oliva.
The same jins who carried the City of Love during the prestigious tournaments hosted by India, Venezuela, US Florida, and Hong Kong continued their dominant streak and opened the new year with a bang.
