MORE or less 1,000 runners in Iloilo and neighboring provinces will join the 2019 Iloilo Dinagyang Run on Jan. 20.
The running event, which is part of the 2019 Dinagyang Festival celebration, aims to promote healthy lifestyle among Ilonggo enthusiasts and will benefit the citys cervical cancer free program.
Organized by the Iloilo City Sports and Youth Development Office, the race features two game categories – 21k half marathon and 5k run.
According to Moises Salomon Jr. of City Sports, the registration fee is P750 only and runners can register at the Sports Office of Iloilo City Hall and FAFORMA Mary Mart mall.
“Aside from two registration areas, we also put up registration booth at SM City Iloilo starting this week. We are inviting Ilonggo runners from other parts of Region 6 and nearby regions to participate in this run. We will end the registration deadline on January 19,” he added.
The Dinagyang Festival is a religious and cultural festival celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of January, or right after the Sinulog in Cebu and the Ati-Atihan Festival in Kalibo, Aklan.
