Jomar Ang, the son of San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president and chief executive Ramon S. Ang, died at the age of 26.

The Ang family announced Jomar’s death on Monday, April 13, 2020, and said that he was rushed to the hospital on April 11 after suffering a serious injury that put him under critical condition.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family decided to hold a private service on Easter Sunday, April 12, for Jomar who was the sixth of the eight children of Ramon and Tessie Ang.

“It has been a painful experience, but we have been comforted by the expressions of love and sympathy sent to us in many ways,” said Ramon and Tessie Ang in a statement they released.

A member of the Ateneo de Manila University’s judo team in his college years, Jomar was a sports enthusiast who later on turned to karting, winning numerous international races.

Jomar served as chief financial officer of BMW distributor RSA Motors and was also working in the San Miguel Global Power Holdings Inc.

“Jomar was a dutiful, loving, and kind-hearted son, brother, and a loyal and dedicated friend to many. He was a source of great joy to us and we are truly blessed to have had his love and presence in our lives. We know in our hearts that he is in a much better place now,” his family said.
