The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles played spoiler to the Nxled Chameleons after dealing them a winless Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference campaign.
On Nov. 18, 2025, ZUS Coffee purely meant business and swept the Chameleons, 25-13, 25-21, 25-21, to reclaim the top spot in the standings with an impressive 7-1 win-loss record.
Despite facing a pumped-up Nxled squad that was reeling to bag just a single win in the import-laced conference, the Thunderbelles stuck to their game plan and showed no mercy for three consecutive sets.
Instead of relaxing after already clinching a spot in the upcoming PVL Playoffs, ZUS Coffee vented its ire on Nxled, bouncing back from their first loss of the tournament when they were swept by the Cignal Super Spikers in their last scheduled game.
American import Anna DeBeer continued her consistent two-way outing, spearheading ZUS Coffee’s rebound with an all-around effort of 16 points built from 13 successful attacks, 11 excellent digs, and a service ace.
DeBeer set the tone and was the catalyst during the Thunderbelles’ all-out attack in the opening set, pummeling four consecutive spikes that energized her squad.
The veteran outside hitter’s personal scoring run midway through the first period became the sole reason why ZUS Coffee broke the game wide open, scoring in a variety of ways that the Chameleons couldn’t stop.
Picking up where DeBeer left off was middle blocker AC Miner, who anchored the ZUS Coffee defense while also stepping up her offensive game.
When DeBeer got checked for a brief period in the second set, the Thunderbelles turned to Miner, who made the most out of her opportunity in scoring the leather.
The former Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) standout wrapped up her team’s seventh win with 15 markers derived from 13 successful attacks, including two crucial kill blocks that prevented Nxled from forcing a deuce in the second set.
Also answering the call for the Thunderbelles were Chinnie Arroyo and Kate Santiago, who churned in 10 and nine points, respectively.
On the other hand, it was a disappointing PVL Reinforced Conference bid for the Chameleons after losing all eight of their games.
Spanish import Paola Martinez concluded her trip to the Philippines with a 15-point effort, while Lyann De Guzman added 10 markers and 11 excellent receptions.
