Yuka Saso leaps to world no. 6 in women’s world golf rankings

Filipina-Japanese golf superstar Yuka Saso just clinched her highest recorded world ranking in her professional women’s golf playing history.

After taking over the world no. 8 spot a month ago, the Filipina didn’t settle and was able to put in more points to rise to world no. 6 of the women’s world players.

The 2021 US Open grand champion placed 39th during the Women’s Open at Carnoustie and had a 15th place finish in the Women’s Scottish Open.

From Saso’s last 36 events joined, the Tokyo Olympic participant was able to average an impressive 5.64 points per contest.

The Filipina will have the chance to enter the star-studded top-five rankings if she can add more points to her present tally.

Olympic gold medalist Nelly Korda from the United States remains as the world no. 1 with a stellar 10.33 average points followed by Koreans Jin young Ko, In Bee Park, and Sei Young Kim.

Saso is currently preparing against the best women golfers from the United States and Europe as they are set to collide in the Solheim Cup at Inverness in Ohio.
