Youngster in rape case arrested

A 21-year-old rape suspect was arrested evening of March 14 in Cabatuan, Iloilo.
Anthony Armada, of Barangay Barasalon, Janiuay, Iloilo, was collared in a convenience store at Bermejo Street, Cabatuan around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Members of Janiuay Municipal Police Station, together with Cabatuan MPS and 603rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 6, served to the suspect an arrest warrant for rape in Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code docketed as Criminal Case Number 21-1201.
Judge Redentor Eugenio Esperanza of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Dec. 10, 2021.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Captain Alwin Salmon, Janiuay police chief, said the suspect is the No. 3 most wanted person in Janiuay.
He sought refuge in his mother’s place in Barangay Janipaan, Cabatuan after he was charged for rape.
Armada is now detained and will be presented to the court.
