BACOLOD City – A young man died after he drowned at sea in Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) identified the victim as Joven Buenaflor, 26, of the said village.
Based on police investigation, the victim and his friends went fishing when he also decided to go swimming.
However, his friends heard him shouting for help as he was suffering from cramps.
A witness tried to save the victim but due to the strong water current, he was unable to rescue him.
Rescuers tried to revive the victim but he was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.
