Year-end 2025 performance of schools in LEPT

The Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) is given twice a year by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Professional Teachers. Results of the latest LEPT, held in September and November 2025, were released in December 2025.
In the LEPT – Elementary, 21,967 out of 43,035 examinees, or 51.04%, passed. Nineteen thousand nine hundred twenty-four (19,924) first-time takers passed, with a passing percentage of 73.81%. West Visayas State University (WVSU) in La Paz, Iloilo City, ranked No. 1 among schools with 100 or more examinees and at least an 87% passing rate. Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), also in La Paz, Iloilo City, ranked No. 6 in the same category.
Two schools in Western Visayas had board passers included in the list of top 10 successful examinees at the national level: University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos (UNO-R), with one Rank No. 8 placer, and Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU), with one Rank No. 10 placer.
Western Visayas performed well in this examination, with a passing percentage higher than the national average. Forty-two (42) out of 70 higher education institutions (HEIs) in Western Visayas, or 60%, were high performing, with a passing average above the national level. Most of the high-performing HEIs were public schools. One thousand six hundred fifty-nine (1,659) out of 2,403 examinees, or 60.04%, passed.
On the other hand, 57,729 out of 79,480 examinees, or 72.63%, passed the LEPT – Secondary. Sixty-three thousand seven hundred twenty-eight (63,728) of these were first-time takers, while 15,752 were repeaters. The passing rate of first-time takers was 81.92%, while that of repeaters was 35%.
West Visayas State University (WVSU) ranked No. 1 among schools with 100 to 299 examinees and at least a 90% passing rate.
Other high-performing schools in Western Visayas, with 100 to 299 examinees and at least a 90% passing rate, included West Visayas State University – Himamaylan Campus in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental (94.62%), and Carlos Hilado Memorial State University – Main in Talisay City, Negros Occidental (91.63%).
Among schools with 50 to 99 examinees and at least a 90% passing rate, the University of Saint La Salle in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, recorded a 90% passing rate.
Six (6) schools in Western Visayas had board passers included in the list of top 10 successful examinees at the national level:
- Philippine Normal University – Visayas in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental (one Rank No. 3)
- University of Saint La Salle (one Rank No. 8 and one Rank No. 10)
- West Visayas State University – Main (one Rank No. 9 and one Rank No. 10)
- Carlos Hilado Memorial State University – Main (one Rank No. 9)
- West Visayas State University – Himamaylan Campus (one Rank No. 10)
- Aklan State University – Main in Banga, Aklan (one Rank No. 10)
Western Visayas performed well, with a passing percentage higher than the national average. Forty-eight (48) out of 94 schools in the region, or 51%, were high performing. The majority were public HEIs. Four thousand one hundred eleven (4,111) out of 5,258 examinees in the region, or 78%, passed.
Finally, at the national level, 73 out of 100 first-time takers passed the LEPT – Elementary, while 81 out of 100 first-time takers passed the LEPT – Secondary. In Western Visayas, 80 out of 100 first-time takers passed the LEPT – Elementary, while 84 out of 100 passed the LEPT – Secondary.
These results generally reflect the positive outcomes of the proper implementation of the current Teacher Education curricula at both the elementary and secondary levels.
