Let us resume our commentaries last Friday on the “surreptitious” disconnection of the electricity supply to the apartment occupied by Nico Causing and his family.
The complaint further said that, “When the guard, who trespassed into the Unit and installed the above-mentioned tarpaulin was asked as to who ordered him to install the tarpaulin, he readily answered that it was upon the orders of Marilyn Lopez.”
To recall this “installation” happened when Nico and his family left the apartment because of the intolerable living situation there. Allegedly on orders of this Lopez and lawyer Roland Pugoy who claimed they were authorized by Olivia Yanson who insists on her sole rights ownership of the apartment, the basic facilities were cut off by Baciwa and Ceneco without proper notice. However, Nico left behind their belongings to indicate they have not abandoned it.
Thus to safeguard his possessions and right in his rented apartment, Nico also posted guards there. And now comes the officers of the association of the subdivision. When Nico bought food and supplies for his people, he was prevented from entering the subdivision although he was a paying member and had not vacated his residence. He was “informed by the guard that he cannot enter the Village allegedly upon orders of Marilyn Lopez.”
How is it possible that Lopez could issue orders to the security guards of the subdivision when she is not an officer of the place? Has the subdivision relinquished its authority to Lopez and abandoned its obligations to Nico? I consider this irregular. If Lopez wanted Nico barred from entering the area, she should have followed proper procedure by asking the subdivision authorities to enforce her instructions. Anyway, they are obedient. Unless the subdivision has relinquished its direct authority over its security force, and placed them under Lopez’ direct command. This is an insult to the subdivision leadership and a violation of the chain of command for a security force.
Rightly did the complainant, Nico suspect “with so much fear and anxiety” that he considered this irregularity “as a prelude to another forcible entry by OVY and people acting at her behest, led by Lopez.”
“It might be worth mentioning,” the complaint continued “that OVY was able to wrestle possession and control of 5 of the 6 units in the Village held and managed by EVY for more than TWO DECADES already, by overwhelming, intimidating and forcibly evicting the guards deployed by EVY.”
Indeed, if Olivia Yanson succeeded in this forcible ejection of the former apartment residents, she probably thought that she could likewise intimidate Nico. But she was wrong in this one. Nico was willing to suffer the insult and humiliation but not surrender his rights to bully tactics.
The complaint continued to say that “Complainants are just too aware of what actually happened during the forcible takeover of the 5 units in the Village previously under the possession of and were being legally and seamlessly leased by EVY to various tenants. The reason being, and as earlier mentioned, one of the 5 units involved, in this unfortunate episode is Unit # 21, which was (and still is) covered by a valid lease contract and therefore should be occupied by EVY’s tenant, Athena Causing, Nico’s Aunt.
“In fact, when the guards of OVY forcibly took over said unit, by overwhelming, threatening and eventually evicting the guards deployed by EVY, Athena’s personal belongings, furniture and other fixtures as well as, one of her caretakers, were trapped inside the unit.”
The action of Nico to leave his belongings inside the apartment was to avoid being “trapped” there aside from being deprived of water and lighting facilities. It seems that Olivia and cohorts have resorted to oppressive measures to enforce their will even against the law, and there are public utility personnel who are willing to conspire to inflict cruelty on their victims even if they knew that what they were doing was against the law and a betrayal of their specific mandates.
The suspicion of corruption cannot be brushed aside because operations of this nature is not a fruit of intimidation or courteous accommodation.
Was it to gloat over her “victory” that Nico and family left the apartment that Olivia visited the place?
Tomorrow we continue with an expected twist.

Where students matter the most
There is a moment most teachers and student affairs people know too well, but rarely talk about. It is not during recognition day. Not during graduation. It is that quiet moment when you notice a student slowly fading — attendance slipping, participation shrinking, eyes no longer meeting yours. Nothing dramatic. No
