West Visayas State University’s Sports Director Dr. Richard Gabayoyo organized a Valentine’s virtual concert that will feature top Guimaras artists to be aired live through the Players’ Center Sports Academy Facebook page.
Dr. Gabayoyo’s ultimate goal is to help talented Guimaras artists be heard and discovered on a national scale.
Aside from being WVSU’s Sports Director, Dr. Gabayoyo is also the founder of the Players’ Center Sports Academy and the head convener of the Guimaras artists.
Dr. Gabayoyo and the rest of his committee started planning out for the event during the first week of January 2021 and are hoping for a smooth and hassle-free event with a theme of “One passion, one music, and one love this Valentine’s day.”
Together with Dr. Gabayoyo are musical director Vanessa June Estrevencion, assistant musical director Diana Grace Galvez, and technical director Danica Rose Espenitra.
“Ang theme one passion, one music, and one love this Valentine’s day. The Covid-19 pandemic is not a hindrance for the players’ center sports academy and Guimaras artists to organize this event. It has been tested and proven that the positive side of this pandemic is the creativity and innovations that we can do.”
“Because of this initiative many had been inspired by what the Guimaras artists can offer and it’s always beyond the expectations of many people. No sponsorships, only love and passion in music that we brought the group to the advanced level category. By May 2021 Players’ Center Sports Academy and Guimaras artists will organize another virtual concert this time to showcase the beautiful tourist destinations of Guimaras,” Dr. Gabayoyo said in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.
