WV top cop checks readiness of police stations

BACOLOD City – Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 visited some police stations and mobile force companies in Negros Occidental over the weekend to check the operational readiness of the units.

Pamuspusan, along with Police Colonel Harold Tuzon, deputy regional director for operations of PRO-6, conducted the inspection last Sunday to check how prepared the station personnel were.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) recently went on full alert status, following the series of killings in the adjacent province of Negros Oriental last month.

Pamuspusan also evaluated the compliance of these units with the said alert status.

The raising of the alert status came after the directive of the regional director to the public‘s safety and prevent the possible spill over of violence by the New People’s Army (NPA) from Negros Oriental to the occidental side.

Pamuspusan stressed the proactive and smart policing approach under his leadership which is aligned to the strategic direction of the unit for a “stronger PRO-6.”
