WV police offices get new patrol cars

Additional mobility assets were turned over to several police offices in Western Visayas.

Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, Western Visayas police chief, led the blessing and turnover of 30 patrol cars Tuesday at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) multi-purpose hall at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

Dongbo said the vehicles came from the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame and were part of the PNP’s Capability Enhancement Program.

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) received 10 units while six went to Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO); four to Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO); three each to Antique PPO and Capiz PPO; and two each to Aklan PPO and Guimaras PPO.

Dongbo said that these mobile assets would boost police capability in terms of visibility patrols, response and other anti-criminality efforts.

He also reminded the recipients, especially the end users, to take good care of their vehicles.

“You are very lucky that you receive these mobility assets. Designated drivers, consider these as your own property and always ensure that it is well maintained. This is a great help for us in attaining our mission, a safer Western Visayas to live, work and do business,” Dongbo said.

He pointed out that the procurement of these vehicles and equipment shows that the PNP is on the right track in its transformation journey.

Even a few years back, PRO-6 noted that all police stations in the region have police cars, enough number of firearms for their personnel and all are equipped with computer sets.

With more vehicles, police units are expected to be more efficient in terms of responding to calls for help.
