BACOLOD City – A carcass of a dolphin was found in the waters off Barangay San Isidro, Calatrava, Negros Occidental last Monday.
It was reported to weigh about 350 to 400 kilos.
Residents found the dolphin floating at the sea and brought it to the shore where they took some photos.
Major Roberto Indiape Jr., town police chief, said personnel of the Department of Agriculture received a call on the said report.
When they responded, they discovered three injuries in the dolphin’s head and body which probably caused its death.
However, Indiape said authorities did not know what caused the dolphin’s wounds.
Since it was already in its decomposing stage, they decided to bury it in Barangay Bantayanon.
