Global development and advocacy organization World Vision has partnered with regional integrated communications agency ComCo Southeast Asia in supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines through the “Cause Marketing for Good Virtual Conference.”
The Cause Marketing for Good Virtual Conference aims to inform the MSMEs about the importance of cause-related marketing (CRM) in the current pandemic situation. It will also teach them how to champion social issues through their marketing efforts.
The online conference will happen on July 21 at 2 p.m. It will have sessions on defining CRM, CRM’s impact on sales from AirAsia, and how to use e-commerce to forward one’s cause from Lazada.
It will also include a panel discussion with experts and practitioners of the field from ComCo Southeast Asia for public relations and IdeasXMachina for creatives to discuss the process of creating effective CRM campaigns.
“They [MSMEs] comprise more than 90% of our businesses in the country and employing more than 60% of our country’s workforce… a learning event or campaign is a way for World Vision of helping MSMEs, that while most of them are still recovering from the impact of the pandemic they can also do something good through effective cause marketing campaigns,” said Rommel Fuerte, National Director of World Vision.
The similarity of advocacies and priorities of World Vision and ComCo Southeast Asia lead to the implementation of the Cause Marketing for Good campaign, according to World Vision Resource Development Director Jun Godornes.
“We’re grateful to the leadership of Ferds [ComCo Southeast Asia Regional Integration & Chief Executive Director Ferdinand Bondoy] in ComCo and how that relationship has spun off and referred us to different entities and different business partners… In order to make this [relationship] sustainable, we should give back to the business sector, and this [cause marketing] is our way of giving back,” said Godornes.

Participants may register for the Cause Marketing for Good Virtual Conference at wvph.co/CauseMarketingForGood.
