A woman’s body was found floating in the Suage River in Janiuay, Iloilo, early on Dec. 12.
The victim, a 46-year-old known as “Joelea” and a resident of Barangay Jibolo, was reportedly suffering from a psychological disability.
Her husband did not elaborate further on her condition.
He said the woman left home around 11 p.m. on Dec. 11.
When she failed to return, the family began searching for her and even reached as far as Pavia town.
Their search ended when they learned that a woman’s body had been found in the Suage River around 5 a.m. Friday.
Initial investigation showed the woman may have jumped off the Suage Bridge.
Her body was found near the rocks beneath the bridge.
Reports said she left behind three children.
She was reportedly under medication but did not take her prescriptions and had thrown them away.
