ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A woman witnessed how three suspects shot dead her brother Sunday evening at Brgy Tina Dumarao, Capiz.
Agnes Sarceno also denied police reports that her brother Noel Sarceno, 34, drew and pointed a gun at Nestor Venecio and Razel Acejo in a funeral wake.
In a radio interview Monday morning, Agnes said she saw personally how the three suspects – barangay kagawad Ranilo Beneseo, Ricky Beneseo and Kathy Agustin – shot her hapless brother.
Agnes said she was about four meters away from the suspects. The shooting happened at the roadside, not in the house where the wake was held.
She said the killing was planned out because the suspects shot her brother in the back.
“I could not understand why they shot and killed my brother,” she said, adding that it was their relatives that brought the victim to the hospital.
When asked why she did not inform the police about what she saw, Agnes said the police did not invite her so she can give her statements on the incident.
Earlier, Police Lt. Bonifacio Galvez, Dumarao PNP chief, said they have leads on the suspects who shot dead Noel Sarceno, 34, of said place.
But Galvez refused to reveal the identities as the investigation is ongoing.
He said Sarceno has a pending case for killing two persons which could be the motive behind the incident.
