A woman was arrested morning of July 27 on accusations that she violated the cybercrime law.
Josepina Relos, 26, of Barangay Tagbak, Jaro, Iloilo City, was riding a private vehicle when police flagged it down along Barangay Rizal Estanzuela, City Proper district.
Members of the Iloilo City Police Station, Iloilo City Police Office-City Intelligence Unit (ICPO-CIU) served the arrest warrant against Relos for violation of Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012) docketed as Criminal Case No. 23-89491.
Judge Victorino Maniba of the Regional Trial Court Branch 39, Iloilo City issued the arrest warrant on July 24, 2023.
Bail for her temporary liberty was set at P48,000.
Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez, Jr., ICPO CIU chief, said Relos claimed that the case stemmed from a conflict within their family.
In one instance, there was sort of a verbal fight and she decided to go on Facebook live which was used as evidence by a family member to haul her to court.
She did not elaborate, though, where the conflict stemmed from.
