BACOLOD City – A woman who was critically wounded in a shooting incident at Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2 here last Tuesday died later that day.
Police Lieutenant Andy Ofalia, deputy station commander of Police Station 2, confirmed the death of Lorensa Prado, 33, of Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
Ofalia said Prado expired at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here around 2:44 p.m. Tuesday due to a lone gunshot wound in the head.
Ofalia said the suspect first shot Prado then turned his gun to Prado’s companion identified as a certain “Cris” of Barangay Mansilingan here.
Cris died on the spot.
Ofalia said they are looking into a misunderstanding over money as possible motive for the incident.
“Something parte sa bayad,” Ofalia said.
Authorities could not determine if it was a debt matter or something else, although Prado’s bag reportedly containing a big amount of cash was allegedly missing.
Ofalia said they already have a lead on the identity of the perpetrator but refused to give details for now.
