BACOLOD City – A woman was killed by her partner’s wife inside a bakeshop at Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
Police withheld the names of the 40-year-old suspect and the 33-year-old victim.
Armed with a kitchen knife, the suspect allegedly attacked the victim, who was working in a bakeshop.
Police Major Gil John Despi, city police chief, said the suspect passed through the kitchen door when she committed the crime.
The victim sustained eight stab wounds on her neck and chest and was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead.
Police recovered from the scene a 13-inch knife used in the crime. The suspect surrendered to the authorities and was placed under police custody.
Despi said the suspect told the police that she did not regret what she did because of her husband’s affair with the victim.
“They’ve been together for several months now,” he added.
Despi said anger and jealousy triggered the suspect to commit the crime because her husband fails to provide for their children.
He also said that the suspect has even complained her husband several times to the authorities for not supporting their three female children.
The suspect, who is detained at Escalante City Police Station will be charged for murder.
