BACOLOD CITY — A 26-year-old woman who police said was trying to support her three daughters was arrested in a drug bust in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, on Wednesday.
Police identified the suspect as alias Shain.
Police said they seized 200 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 1,360,000 from her rented house.
Maj. Eugene Tolentino, head of Police Station 2, said Shain allegedly transacted with a police agent for PHP 12,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Tolentino said Shain, who was tagged as a high-value individual, had been under monitoring for years.
She was placed under close surveillance for about three weeks before the buy-bust operation was launched, he added.
Tolentino said the suspect’s live-in partner is currently in jail, but police are still verifying the offense he allegedly committed.
Tolentino said Shain would sometimes sell food, but the income was allegedly not enough to support her family, reportedly prompting her to engage in the illegal drug trade.
Her customers would usually go to her place, where she allegedly sold the contraband, according to Tolentino.
Charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs were filed against the suspect on Friday.
