A 22-year-old woman was arrested by police after operatives seized 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 340,000 in Barangay 3, Bacolod City, on Wednesday.
Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, identified the suspect as alias Mimi.
Legada said Mimi was reportedly engaged in the illegal drug trade and had allegedly taken over the operations of her husband.
Recovered during the operation were eight sachets of suspected shabu, PHP 1,000 in marked money, and other non-drug items.
The CDEU tagged Mimi as a high-value individual, Legada said.
He said Mimi was arrested for a drug offense for the first time.
She is detained at Police Station 2.
Meanwhile, 25.2 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 171,360 were seized from a 55-year-old suspect identified only as alias Jack in a drug bust in Barangay 7, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, on May 2.
Confiscated during the operation were 10 sachets of suspected shabu, PHP 500 in marked money, and several non-drug-related items.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region said the operations were part of its commitment to aggressively disrupt illegal drug networks and ensure safer communities across the region.
