A woman was arrested in an anti-narcotics operation afternoon of Sept 10, 2020 in Roxas City, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year old Daisy Catedrilla of Barangay Cabantuhan, Lemery, Iloilo.
Catedrilla used to work for a bar in Roxas City when she met Jerry Lara, 44, a resident of Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City.
But Lara quickly eluded arrest during the operation jointly conducted by the Roxas Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Capiz Provincial Office around 3:15 pm Thursday.
Recovered from the suspect were three sachets of suspected shabu, marked money, and a caliber .38 revolver loaded with five ammunition.
Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad, Roxas City police chief, said they mounted the operation after they apprehended the couple’s alleged 15-year-old runner.
“Lara had been using the boy and his live-in partner as runners,” he said.
On top of that, Lara had also been on the police’s radar as his brother Andrew was also arrested for a drug-related case.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are now being prepared for filing in court. (With a report from Felipe Celino)
