Woman Killed, Husband Injured in Motorcycle Crash

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 45-year-old woman died, and her husband was injured after their motorcycle collided with a truck early Wednesday morning, November 13, in Barangay Tacas, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Police identified the victims as alias Loren and her husband, alias Manuel, 50, both residents of Barangay Jolongjog, also in Pontevedra.
According to an investigation by the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station, the crash occurred around 5:05 a.m. while the couple was traveling to Jolongjog on a motorcycle. The vehicle was struck by a truck driven by alias Bonnie.
The couple was rushed to Bailan District Hospital, but the woman succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
The husband remains confined at a hospital in Roxas City.
Police arrested the truck driver, who is now in custody at the Pontevedra Police Station.
Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide are set to be filed against him.
