KALIBO, AKLAN — A woman detained for illegal drugs is now also facing cyberlibel charges after an arrest warrant was served against her on April 2.
The arrest warrant for Chescery was served at her detention cell at the Aklan District Jail in Barangay Nalook, Kalibo, Aklan.
Personnel from the Kalibo Municipal Police Station served the warrant for five counts of violation of Republic Act No. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
The cases are docketed under Criminal Case Nos. 17760, 17761, 17762, 17772, and 17773.
Judge Nelson Jiz Bartolome of the Regional Trial Court Branch 8 in Kalibo, Aklan issued the warrant on March 27, 2025.
Bail was set at PHP10,000 for each count.
Chescery was initially arrested on Jan. 9, 2025, during a drug buy-bust operation.
