DAO, Capiz — A woman was injured after being sideswiped by a motorcycle driven by a police officer in Barangay Nasunugan around midnight on Dec. 24.
Authorities identified the victim as Ray Jean Lozada Gayas, 22, of Barangay Katipunan, Tapaz.
She sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Dao District Hospital for treatment.
The driver was identified as Patrolman Hanz Angelo Billones, 27, of Poblacion Ilaya, Dao.
Billones, who was en route to Barangay Angub in Cuartero town, also sustained injuries in the accident.
Responders from the Dao Emergency Response Team provided immediate medical assistance.
The Dao police are currently investigating the incident to determine liability and contributing factors.
