Woman hurt after motorcycle hits dump truck

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 24-year-old woman was seriously injured after the motorcycle she was driving hit a 12-wheeler dump truck early Monday morning, June 29, at Highway Crossing Security Bank in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
Police identified the victim as alias “Mikay,” 24, of Sitio Bang-ogay, Barangay Natividad, Pilar, Capiz.
An investigation by the Roxas Component City Police Station showed the victim was traveling from Roxas City proper when she hit a HOWO 12-wheeler dump truck driven by alias “Robert,” 57, of Barangay Dinginan, Roxas City.
The victim sustained head and body injuries from the impact and was taken by the Roxas City Emergency Response Team to a private hospital for treatment.
The truck driver was unhurt but was also taken to a hospital after experiencing hypertension.
The victim and the truck driver were confined in separate hospitals, while the motorcycle and the dump truck were placed under the custody of the Roxas City police for proper disposition and investigation.
