BACOLOD City – Police are probing the death of a woman who was believed to be robbed inside her house in Barangay Paglaum, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental yesterday.
The victim was identified as Floreza Calderon, 52.
Major Ellendie Rebusquillo, town police chief, said Calderon was found lifeless on the bed by her sister.
Rebusquillo said there was a sign of forcible entry in the window of the victim’s house, an indication that someone sneaked into her home.
Rebusquillo initially said that no item was missing from the victim’s house. But they believe that the unidentified perpetrator probably planned to rob the house.
“Basi bala nakita niya ang tawo nga nag sulod sa iya balay, kay siya man lang na isa sa ila,” he added.
Rebusquillo said the victim suffered stab wounds and her face was covered with a pillow.
He said they are waiting for the results of the autopsy to determine the cause of her death.
