BACOLOD City – Police arrested a woman’s live-in partner after the discovery of her lifeless body at their rented house at Purok Makawiwili, Barangay Banago here last Saturday.
The victim was identified as Roselyn Destua, 33, of Barangay Zone 16, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 3, said the victim was wrapped in a blanket inside a room when policemen responded to a report from concerned persons.
Prior to the discovery of the victim’s body, Vargas said the couple figured in an argument on Friday morning, Feb. 17, based on the statement of the witnesses.
A few hours later, the victim’s partner 30-year-old Josan Destua was sighted leaving their house on board a motorcycle.
Policemen visited the suspect’s house in another village, but he was not there.
The following day, policemen arrested Josan after they received information that he was sighted near their rented house.
Vargas said the victim will be subjected to an autopsy to determine the cause of her death.
She said that based on the statement of the witnesses, the couple would frequently argue.
Meanwhile, the suspect denied the allegation against him, according to Vargas.
