A 34-year-old woman facing multiple theft charges was arrested on the morning of November 12 in La Paz district, Iloilo City.
The suspect, known by the alias Flor and a resident of Barangay Napnapan, Tigbauan, was apprehended in Barangay Nabitasan around 10:30 a.m.
Her arrest resulted from a joint operation by the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC), Iloilo City Police Station 2, the Iloilo City Police Office–City Intelligence Unit (ICPO-CIU), the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, the Tigbauan Municipal Police Station, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office–Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU).
Authorities served an arrest warrant for 17 counts of qualified theft under Article 310 of the Revised Penal Code.
The warrant was issued by Judge Marie Yvette Dedel Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 37 in Iloilo City.
Bail was set at PHP 680,000 for Flor’s temporary liberty.
Police said Flor was listed as the eighth most wanted person in Iloilo province.
She was taken into custody by Iloilo City Police Station 2 pending turnover to the court.
Colonel Kim Legada, Iloilo City police chief, said the arrest demonstrated the police’s firm stance against fugitives.
“The Iloilo City Police Office will relentlessly pursue all those who evade the law until they are held accountable. This arrest underscores our firm commitment to a safer and just community,” Legada said.
He added that the ICPO would continue strengthening intelligence-driven operations and coordination with other law enforcement units to ensure wanted persons are brought to justice.
