BACOLOD City – A woman died while her boyfriend was injured after the motorcycle they were riding crashed in a rice field at Barangay Palaka Zur, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental on Thursday.
Killed was Angel Sarion, 23, of Barangay Mandalagan.
Sarion’s boyfriend Jerick Tongcua, 28, of Barangay 34 here was hurt.
Police Captain Larry Teovisio, town police chief, said Tongcua, who drove the motorcycle, was tailing an unidentified vehicle which he allegedly overtook. But he miscalculated his speed and hit the steel road railings.
Teovisio said the speeding motorcycle swerved and fell into a rice field.
Sarion died on the spot while Tongcua suffered injuries and is still confined at a hospital here.
