Woman Dies After Trailer Truck Accident

BACOLOD CITY — A 23-year-old woman died after being run over by a trailer truck at Hacienda Yee-on, Barangay Cabahug, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, last Friday.

Police identified the victim as Marry Ann Labrador, a resident of Barangay Tiglawigan.

An investigation revealed that Labrador was driving a motorcycle and following a truck driven by a 54-year-old man from Sagay City.

While navigating a curved road, Labrador reportedly attempted to overtake the truck but lost control upon noticing an approaching mini dump truck in the opposite lane.

Her motorcycle slipped, causing her to fall to the ground and be hit by the truck’s rear tire.

Labrador succumbed to severe head injuries at the scene.

The truck was heading to a transloading station in E.B. Magalona town when the accident occurred around 2 p.m.

Police Lt. Col. John Joel Batusbatusan, Cadiz City Police chief, said both parties involved have reached an initial settlement.
