Woman dead after falling from tricycle

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A senior citizen woman died after she accidentally fell off a colorum or unregistered passenger tricycle Friday evening in Brgy. Tiza here.

The tricycle driver fled after Mariepress Cervales of Brgy. Lanot lost her life in the incident.

Police investigation indicated that Cervales fell off the tricycle while the driver was on a curved portion of the road.

The driver stopped the tricycle, but he suddenly sped off upon seeing his passenger on the concrete road.

It was reported that a car that was following the tricycle ran over the victim, too.

Cervales was rushed to a private hospital, but she died few hours later. The victim suffered fatal head injuries and hematoma in other parts of her body.

Police are still trying to identify the tricycle driver.
