Woman arrested in P1.8-M Iloilo drug bust
A 38-year-old woman was apprehended during an anti-illegal drug operation on the afternoon of April 29 in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo. The suspect, known as alias Risa of Barangay Lico-an, Barotac Nuevo, was arrested by members of the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6.

A 38-year-old woman was apprehended during an anti-illegal drug operation on the afternoon of April 29 in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
The suspect, known as alias Risa of Barangay Lico-an, Barotac Nuevo, was arrested by members of the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6. She was caught selling three sachets of suspected shabu valued at P15,000.
During the operation, police also seized an additional 13 sachets of suspected shabu and various drug paraphernalia. Captain Cedrick Cruz, chief of the Barotac Nuevo police, reported that the total drugs confiscated weighed about 265 grams, with an estimated street value of P1,802,000.
Cruz noted that Risa had no prior drug-related arrests and was not previously identified as an illegal drug personality. She came under police surveillance following a tip from an informant.
The suspect is currently detained and faces charges under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
