A 46-year-old woman was arrested during a police anti-narcotics operation shortly before midnight on August 15 in Jaro, Iloilo City.
Deby dela Peña was apprehended during a buy-bust operation at her home in Barangay Camalig, Jaro.
The suspect allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer for P1,600.
Members of the Iloilo City Police Station 3 subsequently recovered five more sachets of suspected shabu and several non-drug items.
Captain Melchor Tolentino, ICPS3 chief, stated that the seized drugs weighed around 15 grams and had an estimated value of P102,000.
Tolentino mentioned that dela Peña was arrested after a three-week surveillance operation.
The suspect’s son is also in jail following a previous drug-related arrest.
Tolentino added that the suspect typically received her supply from a source who directly delivered the illegal drugs to her home.
Dela Peña is currently detained and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
