The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Western Visayas continues to support 21 scholars under the Workers Organization Development Program (WODP) Scholarship Grant for Academic Year 2024–2025.
The initiative reaffirms DOLE’s commitment to helping young Filipinos achieve their aspirations through education and skills development.
The scholars come from various provinces in Western Visayas, including one from Aklan, six from Capiz, two from Guimaras, five from Iloilo, and seven from Negros Occidental.
Each scholar receives full tuition coverage, a book allowance, and a monthly stipend to help meet school-related expenses.
DOLE-6 Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez Jr. said the WODP Scholarship Grant is an investment in future leaders.
Rodriguez said equipping scholars with education and skills empowers them to become effective advocates for workers’ rights, productive partners in development, and active contributors to long-term industrial peace.
The WODP Scholarship Grant provides educational assistance to dependents of members and officers of workers’ organizations, enabling them to pursue formal education or skills training.
The program reflects DOLE’s continued prioritization of human development and its recognition of education as a vital tool for securing a better future for working Filipinos.
