Wilder-Joshua boxing heavyweight bout set to take place in 2024

One of the most highly-anticipated heavyweight duels in the history of boxing will finally go down on March 9, 2024, to be held in Saudi Arabia.

In a report made by ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, former boxing heavyweight kings Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder already agreed to a fight deal, that if only they win their respective bouts this December.

Joshua is looking to sustain his momentum and extend his winning streak to three fights against Otto Wallin who only dropped one professional bout and won 26 fights.

The former unified heavyweight champion of the world failed to snatch back his belts against Oleksandr Usyk and has been in a rough patch since the loss.

On the other hand, Wilder, will also look to clinch back-to-back wins against Joseph Parker in Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

Wilder is also looking to resurrect his boxing career after losing his World Boxing Council (WBC) belt to Tyson Fury in one of the most electric trilogies of the sport.

Both fighters ended with a controversial draw in the first fight but Fury swept all two next fights and cemented his name as one of the top dogs in the division.

Coppinger said that if both fighters take care of their respective assignments in Riyadh, the Wilder-Joshua fight will then be arranged to treat the boxing fans next year.

Despite the losses, Joshua still holds an impressive professional record of 26 wins, 23 knockouts, and three defeats.

Meanwhile, Wilder’s losses all came from Fury and knocked out 42 of his opponents while carrying a 43-2 win-loss record.

If the fight will push through, can Joshua withstand Wilder’s power or will the latter’s ring mastery affect the “Bronze Bomber’s” gas tank?
