ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A widower wanted for murder was arrested by police on May 4 at Barangay Lagdungan, Tapaz, Capiz.
Romy Palomar Cerbas, 59, of said place, did not resist when the members of Tapaz municipal police station served a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 20 Judge Judith D. Orendain-Tonogbanua of Mambusao, Capiz on July 9, 2019.
Cerbas was traced through the tracker teams of Tapaz and Sigma Municipal Police Stations with the help of the 602nd Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and Capiz Police Provincial Office.
The suspect is presently in the custody of Tapaz PNP.
Police said Cerbas fled after allegedly killing a neighbor at the height of the pandemic.
Authorities later learned that he returned home after four years of hiding.
