Bulacan native Brigadier General Rolando Miranda will be formally welcomed to Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City, the home of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) headquarters, as its new regional director today, Dec 2, 2020.
Miranda succeeded Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, outgoing PRO-6 commander, effective Dec. 1, 2020.
Born on Nov. 16, 1965, Miranda is a native of San Miguel, Bulacan, where he spent his childhood until high school.
In 1986, he joined the Philippine Military Academy and graduated in 1990.
Miranda was then assigned to several positions in the PNP.
Among his notable assignments were being the station commander of Sta. Mesa, Ermita, Sta Ana and Balut, Tondo, all in Manila Police District from 2003 to 2009.
In 2009, he was designated as spokesperson of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
He became the Chief of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group on January 2013. He was then assigned as operations head of PRO-Cordillera.
Miranda was then appointed as Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) director from March 2014 until March 2015.
He also became the Chief of Staff of the now defunct Police Regional Office 18 (Negros Island Region) on 2017.
He also served as the Deputy Regional Director for Operation in Police Regional Office 8 in 2018.
On October 2019, Miranda was designated as the Executive Officer of the Directorate for Human Resource Doctrine and Development where he earned his first star.
Prior to his designation as PRO-6 top cop, Miranda was designated as Manila Police District (MPD) director in March 2020.
Miranda also beefed up his academics. He earned his Master in Business Administration from Wesleyan University-Philippines in 2004.
Aside from the mandatory courses that he earned, he underwent special trainings such as Executive Leadership Program in Indonesia in 2012; Anti-Kidnapping and Hostage Negotiation Consultation in Columbia in 2013; and the Senior Crisis Management Course in United States of America.
Miranda is a bemedalled officer with more than 130 medals earned since 1993. He also earned his rank of Police Lieutenant Colonel via Meritorious promotion.
