A farmer accused of sexually abusing an underage relative was arrested late on Feb. 6 in Balasan, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified as alias Enteng, 46, a resident of Barangay Bacolod in Balasan, was arrested in the town proper, police said.
Operatives of the Balasan Municipal Police Station arrested him for qualified rape under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1, in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code, as amended, and in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The warrant of arrest was issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 70, in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, on Jan. 13, 2026.
The court did not recommend bail for his temporary release.
Police identified the suspect as the No. 1 most wanted person in Western Visayas.
Lt. Patrick John Alabado, Balasan police chief, said the victim is 13 years old.
He said the child was assisted by a social worker in filing the case.
The complainant alleged the rape occurred sometime in 2019 and again in February 2025.
Enteng is in the custody of Balasan police for proper disposition of his case.
