A total of 137 wanted individuals were apprehended in Western Visayas from June 1 to 15 during an intensified manhunt operation by the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
Among those arrested, 34 were identified as most wanted persons (MWPs), while 103 were categorized as other wanted persons (OWPs), PRO-6 reported on Sunday.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) led the operation, contributing 18 arrests of MWPs and 53 OWPs for a total of 71 apprehensions — the highest among regional units.
Other contributors to the MWP arrests included the Aklan Police Provincial Office with seven, Iloilo City Police Office with five, Antique Police Provincial Office with two, Capiz Police Provincial Office with one, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Regional Field Unit 6 with one.
For the 103 OWPs captured, IPPO again topped the list, followed by Antique with 20, Capiz with 10, Aklan with nine, Iloilo City with seven, and Guimaras with four.
Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, PRO-6 regional director, praised the collaborative effort of the units and their respective tracker teams.
“These accomplishments reflect the dedication and unwavering commitment of our personnel in bringing fugitives to the court of laws,” Wanky said.
He also credited the community’s cooperation, noting that “vital information” shared by civilians was instrumental in locating and apprehending suspects.
The arrested individuals were immediately turned over to the respective courts handling their cases.
Wanky reaffirmed PRO-6’s commitment to sustaining its anti-crime efforts and urged continued public support to ensure law and order across Western Visayas. (PRO-6)
