ILOILO CITY — One of Western Visayas’ most wanted persons was arrested late morning Oct. 6 in Anilao, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Andoy,” 47, a farmer from Barangay Sta. Rita, Anilao.
He was arrested during an intelligence-driven police manhunt operation.
Andoy was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder under Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code.
The Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 71 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, issued the warrant on July 21, 2026.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
The operation was carried out by intelligence operatives of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6’s Technical Support Company, together with personnel from the RMFB-6 regional headquarters, Anilao Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit-Counter Intelligence Team and the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force’s 2nd Special Action Battalion.
Police said Andoy was ranked No. 4 on the Western Visayas regional most wanted persons list.
Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, Western Visayas police chief, said the arrest of fugitives is a crucial step toward giving justice to victims.
“Patuloy nating tutugisin ang mga akusadong nagtatago upang maiharap sila sa hukuman at harapin ang kanilang mga kaso,” Tuaño added.
Tuaño also vowed to strengthen intelligence gathering and police coordination with communities to apprehend more wanted persons.
He urged the public to continue helping police locate individuals wanted by the courts.
