One of the most wanted persons in Western Visayas was arrested on the evening of Nov. 13 in Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Alias Edgar, 26, of Barangay Cansilayan, Pototan, Iloilo, was apprehended months after going into hiding.
The suspect is the top most wanted person in Iloilo province and ranks second in the entire Western Visayas region.
Members of the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant for murder.
The Regional Trial Court Branch 69 in PD Monfort North, Dumangas, Iloilo, issued the warrant of arrest on Jan. 10, 2025.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Edgar is now in the custody of Barotac Nuevo MPS for proper disposition of his case.
Colonel Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief, said Edgar’s arrest reflects their intensified campaign against fugitives.
Under Colonel Razalan’s leadership, the Iloilo Provincial Police Office said it continues to uphold its commitment to justice, arresting wanted individuals and ensuring accountability to promote peace and security in the community.
