One of Western Visayas’ most wanted persons was arrested in a manhunt operation on the afternoon of Dec. 4 in Lambunao, Iloilo.
The police identified the suspect only as alias Lito, 66, a resident of Barangay Cabatangan, Lambunao.
Joint operatives from the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC), Iloilo City Police Station 1 (ICPS1), the City Intelligence Unit (CIU), and the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 6 arrested Lito in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod.
Lito, the seventh most wanted person in the region, was apprehended based on an arrest warrant for murder under Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code.
Judge Gemalyn Faunillo-Tarol of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo, issued the warrant. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
The suspect also faces another criminal charge for grave threats under Article 282 of the Revised Penal Code.
Judge Alonette Sicad Ragodo-Perez of RTC Branch 32, Municipal Trial Court 6, Lambunao, Iloilo, issued the warrant for this charge on March 11, 2024, with a PHP3,000 bail recommended for his provisional freedom.
The suspect is now detained and awaiting proper disposition of his cases.
